Trails and Parks
Hiking, biking or just taking a leisurely stroll, you’ll find plenty of trails and parks where you can stretch
your legs! From city and county parks, Alexandria has extensive trails with restaurants, shopping areas
and points of interest right on or near the trails! Built along an old railroad bed, one of Alexandria’s
most cherished trail is the Central Lakes Trail which stretches 55 miles from Fergus Falls to Osakis. From
there it connects to the Lake Woebegone Trail and continues into Sauk Centre. Not only can you enjoy the
peace and serenity of the rivers, woods, lakes and prairies, this trail also winds through 10 different communities, both
large and small. The Central Lakes trail is located only 1/4 mile away from
our resort.

More Than Just
Fishing!
There are no man-made lakes in Alexandria. The 300 bodies of water
in the area, including lakes and rivers were made from 4 glaciers and 20,000 years of melting to create what is known as the
chain of lakes!
The City of Alexandria, Minnesota, has
a small-town feeling, with big-town fun attitude! Although there are over 300 lakes in and around Alexandria, it also
offers many other attractions like historical 19th century Fort Alexandria and the Knute Nelson Home, as well as the Runestone
Museum.
Visitors will also want to take a wine-tasting tour at the Carlos Creek Winery. This winery
is home to the largest grape vineyard in Minnesota.
With so much to do in Alexandria, we wonder if you'll find
the time to fish!

Food, Glorious Food!
Hungry? Pizza places, burger
joints, family restaurants, finding dining and let's not forget the gourmet food! Alexandria has it all! Here
is just a sample of the fare you will find - besides your basic fast food places - to wet your appetite!

Museums
The first visitors to American were the Vikings in 1362… or so the story goes.
Whether you believe the folklore or not, it’s still fun to visit the Runestone Museum just to catch a glimpse of the past and see the artifacts on display.
If you’re a history buff, don’t forget to see the notable places in Alexandria including Douglas County Historical Society and the newly constructed Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum.

More Fun!
Go carts, mini
golf, bumper boats and kiddie karts, but that's not all you find at the amusement park! There is definately something
for everyone at Casey's Amusement Park! You can not go wrong with a day spent here if you're looking
for a lot of fun packed into one place! Don't forget to pack a lunch to eat at the picnic area!

Carlos Creek Winery
Wine Fun Fact: Did you know that a red
wine grape can make white wine, but a white wine grape cannot make red wine? That's right! The juice of red,
white and pink wine grapes is clear in color. Red wine is red because the juice is left in contact with the red or black grape
skin until it achieves the degree of color that pleases the winemaker.
If you're looking to find out more about
wine, stop by the Carlos Creek Winery and take a tour.
While you're there, be sure to stay for the live music, take a trek through the Siberian Elm Maze, or explore the Wine Cave, or simply relax and enjoy the
orchard's 8,000 apple trees!
